appeal of your humble Petitioner was dismissed and he is now a condemned

prisoner waiting to be executed for the offence of murder.

That your humble Petitioner is seeking for mercy from Your Excellency the Governor to save him from this punishment.

That your humble Petitioner is aged 31 years, he is the eldest son in a family of six children ranging in age down to 9 years. Your humble Petitioner's family have always been in poor financial circumstances and in consequence thereof your humble Petitioner has resided in substandard overcrowded residences in low class areas. Due to the size of your humble Petitioner's family, his parents did not have the time to provide him with adequate parental guidance. Your humble Petitioner received education to Primary 5 level but because of his family's poor financial circumstances, he was obliged at the age of 13 years to terminate his education and commence work to assist in the support of his family. Your humble Petitioner has always maintained regular employ- ment and contributed the larger part of his income to the support of his family. Through diligent work your humble Petitioner was able to commence his own business as an electrician and was so engaged at the time of the offence for which he now stands condemned.

Your humble Petitioner endeavoured to improve his standard in the community through personal industry and saving whatever money he could; he had no associations with criminals until 1970. In that year your humble Petitioner rented a room from Madam Wan Mui Mui at Po Fu Fansions, Fu King Street, Causeway Bay, and it was through this innocent association with Madam Wan Fui Mui that your humble Petitioner became to associate with persons involved in the prostitution business being carried on in the aforesaid premises. Your humble Petitioner's associations with these persons was only social and he took no part in the running of the prostitute business nor did he receive any profits from this business.

On the evening of this fatal incident your humble Petitioner went with the other perpetrators of the crime solely as a spectator, he had no intention of inflicting any harm on the deceased and did not know the others intended to harm the deceased. When the other persons began assaulting the deceased, your humble Petitioner became excited and also punched the deceased but he did not kick the deceased or use any weapon on the deceased nor did he expect the others to inflict serious injuries on the deceased.

Your humble Petitioner swears that he had no intention to kill the deceased or inflict any serious injury on the deceased; the deceased had done no wrong to your humble Petitioner.
