As you will be aware, and other addressees will have been told, we need certificates of vaccination against small pox and cholera.

8. You are yourself enquiring of Hong Kong whether these are required (question expecting the answer "No"). We are enquiring similarly of CBF Hong Kong. Again Major Lowles will be in touch.

Classified Material.

We are checking that there will be no difficulty about taking classified material on the RAF flight with us.

Timetable in Hong Kong

10. Our flight should arrive in Hong Kong at about 1500 local time on Monday 6 January. Our present thoughts are that Tuesday should be devoted to recuperation ană discussions with CBF Hong Kong. And that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning should be available for discussions with Hong Kong officials. If it is essential for one or more of us to stay on for further discussion on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, there is an RAF flight leaving Hong Kong on Monday and arriving at Brize Norton at 08452 on Tuesday. But I would hope that we could complete our business by Friday midday.

Since you yourself will be away until Wednesday, 1st January, the most convenient time for a meeting would I suggest be Thursday morning, 2 January in my office in the MOD. But my office will confirm times with all concerned.
