Air Staging.

There will be routine trooping

and freighting tasks if any overseas commitments are

retained. There are a large number of possible options

for meeting these RAF or Charter aircraft, the use

of commercial flights, Eastabout or Westabout routes,

and the use of civil or military airports. The most

inexpensive and effective method can only be determined by study when details of all overseas commitments which

are to be retained are decided. Meanwhile a purely

arbitrary figure of £4M p.a. should be included.
