Thank you very much for your letter of 14 October about Kemeth Topley. It is very good of you to have done what you have and I am sure that no harm will ensue. Kenneth had previously written a nice note of thanks to me and Wilma Harte at the DES tells me that she has similarly heard from him. I expect, therefore, that the other people on whom he called will have had similar acknowledgement.
I shall be glad to hear in due course how his handling of the White Paper on Secondary Education proceeds and, of course, later on it would be useful to know whether it is likely that the Governor will wish to pursue his proposal for the appointment of an Education Adviser.
If I see any of my closer colleagues is passing your way in the near future we will certainly take the opportunity of calling on you, but at the moment all our
In the meantime travels are taking us westward rather than in your direction. let me send to you our greetings and good wishes.
As with your letter, I am sending a copy to Andrew Stuart at the FCO.
