Officers on a salary of £14,000 a month or more are eligible for 1st class air passages.

when travelling on leave during the tour under the Annual Leave Scheme, the officer and his wife (if she resides in Hong Kong) and children under 12 accompanying their parents on leave will be eligible for first class air passages. (Children of 12 or over will be eligible for economy class return air passages.)

All school passages must be taken at the cheapest fare available on a scheduled flight as stated in the enclosed nemorandum.

Faragraph 12 - Barrage Allowances

To baggage allowance would be payable in respect of the two mid- tour leave periods.

CARTERS

The officer would be allocated a Government quarter of the approp- riate grade by the Colonial Secretary and the notes relating to the allocation of quarters in the attached memorandum would not apply. However, the officer and his family may be required to stay in an hotel until a quarter becomes available.

TEACHER'S SUPERANNUATION

If the officer is a contributor to any British Teachers' Supe1- annuation Scheme and if he wishes to maintain his position under that scheme any payments necessary in this connection would be the officer's own responsibility and the Government of Hong Kong would not be responsible for any payments either in respect of the employer's or employee's contribution in view of the fact that a gratuity is payable as stated above.
