IMPORTATION OF WILDLIFE FROM CHINA INTO HONG KONG

1.

With my submission of 22 May I submitted draft replies to

letters received from ten MPs about last December's BBC Radio 4

programme on the import of wildlife from China into Hong Kong. Á further letter, enclosing correspondence inspired by the same programme, has now been addressed to the Secretary of State by

Mr Kenneth Lomas MP.

2.

The common wording of the draft replies which I submitted on 22 May is also applicable to the letter received from Mr Lomas. I recommend that Lord Goronwy-Roberts should use it again and I submit a draft accordingly.

3.

I attach, for enclosure with Lord Goronwy-Roberts's reply, a copy of the Code of Standards.
