Dear Sir Brandon,
There is a growing concern in this country with the Hong Kong trade in
rare birds and mammals. These are imported by Hong Kong Chinese traders from
mainland China for the Hong Kong Chinese gourmets.
Conserve tionists are alarmed that the Hong Kong Government appears
unwilling to take any convincing measures to end this trade in endangered
species.
Is it possible that H.M.G. can prevail on the Governor of Hong Kong to
legislate?
I enclose cutting from the Guardian which is self explanatory, together
with a copy of a letter from Mr. Webster, who is Hong Kong Secretary of the Conservancy Association, which lists the animals concerned.
Yours Sincerely,
سات
(Miss Ann Huth.)
Huth.
