Mr Heseltine has written to the Secretary of State

enclosing a letter from one of his constituents, Mrs Jacqueline

Turner.

Mrs Turner encloses a summary of the BBC 4 radio

programme on the Import of Wild Life from China into Hong Kong,

broadcast on 6 December. She asks that an approach be made to

the Chinese Government.

3.

The programme to which Mrs Turner refers was about cruelty

to animals in Hong Kong, the conditions in which they are kept,

the way in which they are slaughtered and the threat of

extinction to certain species which this trade involves.
