Jim Callaghan has asked me to thank you for your letter of 11 March, enclosing a letter which you received from your constituent, Mrs Jacqueline Turner of
9 St Helens Avenue, Benson, Oxon, about the BBC 4 radio programme on the Import of Wild Life from China into Hong Kong.
The questions raised by the BBC programme are being very thoroughly considered. But the issues are complex and we are still consulting the Governor of Hong Kong and our Embassy in Peking. I will send you a full reply as soon as possible.
Meanwhile I am returning Mrs Turner's letter.
Yours sincerely,
MR D Heseltine Esq MP
