IMPORTATION OF WILD LIFE FROM CHINA INTO HONG KONG

A

1. In your minute of 13 December to Mr Davies you asked for

a draft reply which Mr Amery could send to a letter he has

received from his constituent, Mr T A Wing of 9 Elms Lea

Avenue, Withdean, Brighton BN1 6UG about the BBC 4 radio

programme about the import of wild life from China into

Hong Kong.

2. Mr Royle has received a large number of letters from

Members of Parliament on this subject and is still considering

the issues involved. We hope to agree a general reply with

Mr Royle shortly but in the meantime I suggest that Mr Amery

should send his constituent an interim reply. I attach a draft.
