(0) Watt proposes both sponsored inward visits from the

FFY countries to Hong Kong and visits from Hong Kong to the EEC.

(e) Other ideas include putting more effort into

establishing contact with press representatives of the major European media in London, liaison with EEC Consulates in Hong Kong, particularly in respect of VIP visitors, and the provision of Government film in connection with Hong Kong Tourist Association promotions as well as a contract features writing service to be offered by the Information Services Department on the lines of our own COI.

3. We do not know how Watt's report is-to-be dealt with in Hong Kong. Clearly the recommendations will have to be digested and the financial implications examined closely.

4. There is nothing in the report about the possibility of our embassies nominating an officer as a linking point for Hong Kong.
