The Aims and objects of Government Information Services, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong Tourist Association and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce as
applicable to Hong Kong's public relations
and information effort overseas
Hong Kong Government Information Services Department
The main aims of the Information Services Department are to keep Hong Kong people at home and overseas accurately informed of current events in Hong Kong, to keep the public informed of the development of Government policies on matters likely to affect their lives and to assist heads of departments to carry out Govern- ment's information policy. The Government Information Services is a major link between the government, the people of Hong Kong, and the rest of the world. Utilising all the media, it provides a continual flow of information both locally and overseas. Besides communicating the government's news, it also monitors local opinion as expressed in the media. Hong Kong Trade Development Council
The functions of the Council shall be
(a) to promote, assist and develop Hong Kong's overseas
trade, with particular reference to exports; and
(b) to make such recommendations to the Government as
it sees fit in relation to any measures which it considers would achieve an increase in Hong Kong's trade.

Hong Kong Tourist Association
The objects of the Association shall be -
(a) to endeavour to increase the number of visitors to the Colony;
(b) to further the development of the Colony as a holiday resort;
(c) to promote the improvement of facilities for visitors;
(a) to secure overseas publicity for the tourist attractions of
the Colony;
(e) to co-ordinate the activities of persons providing services
for visitors to the Colony;
