BRITISH TRADE COMMISSION IN HONG KONG
INFORMATION POLICY REPORT, AUGUST, 1974
Main Information Policy Objectives
1.
As in previous years these remain:-
a)
the promotion of British exports to Hong Kong, through
i)
the projection of Britain as an important, vigorous and stable trading nation, among
b)
c)
ii)
the leading technologically advanced,
industrial nations, in which the local business
community may have confidence and which deserves their respect; and
the provision of publicity for commercial events, industrial processes and products, where these pass the test of interest and
newsworthiness;
the securing of the better understanding of
British economic policies and achievements;
the promotion, discreetly, of a better understanding of Britain's general, domestic and overseas policies.
Special problems peculiar to Hong Kong

Voice of Britain. The working arrangement between the Hong Kong Government's Information Service and the BTC, described in last year's report, remains the same and
there have been no problems or difficulties arising between the two organisations during the last year. It has become clearer that the Director of GIS,
