I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to refer to your letter of 19 September in which you seek approval of their Lordships under Section 3(i) of the Hong Kong Coinage Order 1936 for the introduction of two new coins, with denominations of 20 cents and 2 dollars respectively.

My Lords have considered the request of the Governor of Hong Kong, and I have to inform you that they agree to the introduction of the two coins described in your letter.
