On the other hand income from other sources such as the United
Nations Fund for Population Activities and from multi-bilateral
programmes will show a substantial increase. Although the major
donors to multi-bilateral technical assistance programmes are still
the Scandinavian countries others are now entering into similar
arrangements. These countries include Federal Republic of
Germany, Japan and Canada.
Negotiations are also being carried on
with donor agencies in Australia, France, Ireland, Netherlands,
New Zealand and Switzerland.
United Kingdom Experts working for the ILO
4. A large number of UK experts contribute to the work of the ILO
in giving technical assistance to developing countries. About 20%
of all the fully qualified experts employed by the ILO in field
projects are British. During the last 25 years nearly 700 British
nationals have been employed as experts in ILO field missions
out of a total of nearly 4,000 coming from 92 different nationalities.
On 1 October this year there were 15 British nationals on the regular
staff of the ILO at Director level and another 140 in posts graded
as Professional.
