Dew Pakes,
INTERNATIONAL LABOUR CONVENTIONS
1.
Many thanks for the three copies of the document "General Information on International Labour Conventions" which you sent to us under cover of your letter CR 7/5683/74 of 31 May.
2.
This comprehensive and detailed study will indeed be most useful, particularly as a source of ready information to answer the frequent questions and letters we receive on Hong Kong and ILO Conventions.
4.
You will know that Ian Price and George Foggon are at the present moment in Geneva attending the 59th Session of the II Conference. I understand that while he is in Geneva Price will be discussing with the IL Office the extent to which it may be possible to improve declarations in respect of certain conventions (paragraph 3 of your letter under reference).
4.
Meanwhile the document that you have sent to us will obviously require detailed examination by the experts here in the FCO and they will be in touch with the Labour Department in due
course.
