An Ordinance to amend the Employment Ordinance.

[23rd August, 1974]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Employment (Amend- Short title. ment) (No. 3) Ordinance 1974.

2. Section 4(2)(a) of the principal Ordinance is amended by Amendment inserting after "(a)" the following-

Section 11(3) of the principal Ordinance is amended by Amendment deleting the proviso and substituting the following-

"Provided that the period of lay-off shall in no case exceed a total of twelve normal working days in any period of four consecutive weeks.".

SEVERANCE PAYMENTS

31A. In this Part and the Third Schedule, unless

the context otherwise requires-

"business" includes a trade or profession and any

activity carried on by a person;
