Amendment

An Ordinance to amend the Road Traffic Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Ordinance 1974 and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

2. Section 5 of the principal Ordinance is amended in sub- of section 5. section (1) by inserting after paragraph (e) the following new

(Cap. 220.)

"(ea) anything which is to be or may be prescribed under this

Ordinance;".

3. Section 14 of the principal Ordinance is amended by

of section 14. deleting subsection (3).

Amendment of section 23.

4.

Section 23 of the principal Ordinance is amended—

(a) by deleting subsection (7) and substituting the follow-

ing-

"(7) If the court or magistrate orders a dis- qualification to be removed, the court or magistrate shall cause notice of the order to be sent to the Commissioner and may in any case order the ap- plicant to pay the whole or any part of the costs of the application."; and

(b) in subsection (8) by inserting before "Commissioner of

Police", in the first place where it occurs, the following-

"Commissioner and the".
