PART I

PRELIMINARY

This Ordinance may be cited as the Hong Kong Arts Short title Centre Ordinance 1974 and shall come into operation on a day and com- to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise Interpreta-

"Board" means the Board of Governors of the Hong Kong Arts

Centre established under section 7;

"Centre" means the Hong Kong Arts Centre established under

section 3;

"Committee” means the Committee of the Hong Kong Arts Centre and a Committee appointed by the Board under section 10(2);

"Constitution" means the Constitution of the Hong Kong Arts

Centre referred to in section 11;

"financial year" means the period commencing on the 1st day of April each year and ending on the 31st day of March in the year following except that the period from the establish- ment of the Centre to the 31st day of March next thereafter shall be deemed to be a financial year;

"Secretary" means the Secretary of the Hong Kong Arts Centre

appointed under the Constitution.
