OLA's REPORT ON HONG KONG

You may wish to see the attached commentary on the points made by Hong Kong on my recent report. What is said should, of course, be read in conjunction with the points made in the submission to Ministers.

2. I shall be glad to be kept informed of any information that may reach you about movements in Hong Kong in the cost of living and real wages. The GCPI for March 1974 had risen to 187 and I would guess that the MCPI (which is relevant to the cost of living of lower paid workers) had risen even more. There is no information available here as yet on the movement of wages)
