Q. Mr. Norman Fowler asked the Prime Minister when he expects to receive the report of the Royal Commission on the Press.

The Royal Commission is still taking evidence, although, as my right
hon. Friend has told the House on a number of occasions, it will be free to submit interim reports or recommenda- tions if it wishes.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (PRIME MINISTER)
Q14. Mr. Gow asked the Prime Minis- ter whether he will arrange a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland in order to discuss increased co-operation between the Irish and British Governments in combating terrorism in Ulster.

The Government have made clear that they are negotiating for success, and it would not be appropriate to initiate such consultations at this stage. It is, of course, always open to either organisa- tion to make its views known to the Government on this issue as on any other.
