WORKING LUNCH FOR THE GOVERNOR OF HONG KONG: WEDNESDAY 18 DECEMBER

1. Lord Goronwy-Roberts has asked that the Secretary of State's Political Adviser, Mr P McNally, should also attend the Office meeting and working lunch on 18 December.

2. I enclose a copy of PSD's authority for the lunch. I noted on the top copy (which is now with Mrs Hewlett, IAD) that you had agreed that the number attending the lunch could be increased to 12. With apologies for having to come back to you yet again, I should be grateful if you would now agree for the number to be further increased to 13.

3. If you agree, I shall inform Mrs Hewlett accordingly.
