As it has been agreed by Government that I should have some duty visits while in London from 9th to 16th September, 1974, en route to Interpol at Cannes, I would like to meet you, if convenient, on the morning of 9th September, after I have seen Mr Michael Macoun. Perhaps, too, I could be granted a brief audience with Sir Duncan Watson and the new Assistant Under-Secretary of State.

I leave it to you and Mr Michael Macoun as to timings, assuming that morning of 9th is convenient.

Once again, I have asked that the various visits during the week be co-ordinated by Mr Macoun's staff.

This time should be my turn to host a small lunch

for you; perhaps Mr Macoun could join us.

I arrive in London on Sunday, 8th Sept. and will make contact by phone early on Monday morning.
