LORD GORONWY-ROBERTS'S VISIT TO THE FAR EAST

1.

I have now consulted the Governor about the possibility of inviting Lord Goronwy-Roberts to visit Hong Kong. His first reaction was that we should take no action until after the elections. However, when I told him that the proposal for a visit to Fiji in October was definitely going ahead, he agreed that we should propose a visit to Hong Kong at the same time.

If the albations intervene, of il Bord Goronwy-lloberta du not in office, then obviously we will have to think again about the whole programie.

I would be grateful therefore if your submission could also propose a visit to Ilong Kong as part of the programme. We will provide a para1raph for your draft when it is ready.
