As Mr Blaker will probably know, the Hong Kong Commissioner

in London, in consultation with the Chairman of the Anglo

Hong Kong Parliamentary Group, suggests which Members of

Parliament should be invited to visit Hong Kong. The Executive

Council then consider the list and advise whether the

invitations should be issued.

4. Normally only two Members of Farliament are invited for each

visit to Hong Kong. However, as both Sir John Tilney and

Mr Royle suggested that Mr James Johnson might accompany

Messrs Richard and Ford, the Hong Kong Government decided to

extend an invitation to Mr Johnson to visit Hong Kong during

the Easter recess. Although this will be his first visit under

the sponsorship of the Hong Kong Government, he has paid other

visits to the Colony in the past.
