Aims of Study.

1. To find ways of ensuring that candidates for nurse training in the

U.K. are fully aware of the different types of training available here and their significance in the context of their own countries.

2. To explore ways of improving, screening and selection procedures

so as to reduce multiple applications for training places and resultant frustration to anolicants.

3. To gain an insight into the home situation of applicants for nurse

training in the U.K. including:-

a) Family life, and the cultural religions, and educational background. b) Employment opportunities for young people.

c) The nursing profession and nursing service to which some will rckavn.

4. To try to assess the needs of trainees in the light of 3. above

so that orientation to life in Britain may be as effective as

possible and these trainces reach their full potential in the U.K.
