Dear Mr Timms,

ESCAP SEMINAR ON PACKAGING

REF.

NEXT

REF.

(57) Ø Sub File

Would you please refer to your letter of 6 December, reference HKK 2/1, in response to Hong Kong's letter of 28

56) November reference ECON 6/5681/73.

2.

I think I am right in assuming that when "original member" is referred to in Mr Drace-Francis' letter "regional member" was meant.

3.

Invitations to the Seminar on Packaging have not yet been sent out but will go to developing regional and associate members of ESCAP. About 40 representatives are expected to attend. I will let you know as soon as I am able whether the Russians and Mongolians will be sending representatives. However no East Europeans will be invited to attend as they are neither members nor associate members of ESCAP.

4.

There will be 6 staff members. One member of ESCAP and 5 international packaging experts probably from Europe. None have yet been nominated and I will let you know nationalities as as the names of the staff members have been confirmed.
