Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your despatch

no CR 7/1136/71 II of 22 April 1974 and to inform you

that the power of disallowance will not be exercised in

respect of the provisional appointment of Mr H M G Forsgate

OBE JP and Mr Kenneth T C Low JP to be Unofficial members

of the Legislative Council with effect from 22 April 1974

during the absence from the Colony of Mr G M Sayer JP and

Mr W Lee OBE JP. The power of disallowance will also

not be exercised in respect of the provisional appointment

of Mr JD McGregor ISO JP to be an official member of the

Legislative Council with effect from 24 April 1974 in

place of Mr D H Jordan MBE JP.
