Mr. Haddon-Cave suggested that the two sides should
consider and discuss, in turn:
(a) his letter of 1st August 1973 to the British Group;
(b) the MTSG's summary of the British Group's latest
proposals (with a view to ensuring that the MTSG's understanding of the proposals was correct);
(c) the Hong Kong Government's requirements for a single- contract arrangement, and the MTSG's understanding of
the British Group's position, as at 20th July 1973,
vis a vis each requirement:
(d) the British Group's response, in broad general terms,
to his letter of 1st August; and
sequence of
(e) if the British Group's response was that they would
wish to continue with the exercise, the
events, as seen by the ETSG, leading up to the
conclusion of the contract.
He handed over to the British Group's representatives
copies of two documents relating to items (b) and (c) above.

Referring to his letter of 1st August 1973 to the British
Group, Mr. Haddon-Cave made the following points of clarification:
