The Prime Minister has seen a copy of a letter of 9 July from the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry to the Chancellor of the Exchequer about the Hong Kong Mass Transit System. He has commented that he regards this as a very important issue.
I am copying this letter to the Private Secretaries of those who received copies of the Secretary of State's letter.
