ELEVEN CHIEF ENGINEER CANDIDATES. SIX QUALIFY CLEARLY INCLU-
DING THREE SUPERINTENDENTS. THREE QUALIFY MARGINALLY AND
TWO DID NOT QUALIFY. EIGHT SECOND ENGINEER CANDIDATES.
FOUR QUALIFIED AND FOUR DID NOT QUALIFY. TWENTY-ONE MATES AND
SECOND MATES PUT FORWARD. SEVEN QUALIFY BUT THREE OF THESE SHOULD
ATTEND RADAR OBSERVER COURSE. NINE DO NOT QUALIFY.
FIVE ALL FROM WORLD WIDE WILL SHORTLY TAKE STATUTORY SECOND
MATE EXAM IN HONG KONG AND WILL PROBABLY PASS.
