Dear Mr. Archer,
re: Hong Kong Shipping Register
Further to our telegram No. 467 dated 1st May, 1973
I am forwarding herewith a copy of a paper "Proposed Hong Kong
Register of Shipping" which has been circulated to shipowners
as the basis for discussion at the forthcoming meeting. You will
note the Draft Consultative Document is not specifically referred
to, although I had the requirement to forward written comments
on that document in mind, when compiling paragraphs 4 and 5 of
the paper.
We have already been advised of the question which was
asked by Mr. John Prescott in the House of Commons on 30th April
and Mr. Heseltine's reply, and once again I can assure you that
every effort will be made to expedite matters at this end.
Encls.
Yours sincerely,
Allan Fletcher.

Director of Marine.
