In his letter SCR 4/1316/72 I of 24 May to Michael Wilford, the Governor mentioned, at paragraph 5, the forthcoming Annual Assembly of Interpol at Vienna in October.

I enclose a copy of a passage which Norman Rolph has sent to the prospective Head of the British Delegation, Mr C P J Woods (Assistant Commissioner, Crime, New Scotland Yard) for inclusion in the latter's address to the Assembly.

3.

On a separate issue: the Governor mentioned the possibility of Rolph accompanying the ad hoc Committee in the course of its visit to South East Asian countries. It seems that Train and Rolph agreed between them that, as the former had recently visited Hong Kong and was now briefed on our problems, there was no particular point in Rolph joining the sub-committee, with the risk that it entailed of putting certain backs up.
