Anti-drug drive
to kick off

A GOVERNMENT source yesterday disclosed plans for the Colony's "most ambitious" anti-drug campaign.
The drugs drive which starts on October 1 will- include "a first time ever survey to assess tho resuits of the biggest anti-narcotics campaign.
In an interview with The Hongkong Standard, the source, who asked not to do named, said: "The survey will be conducted in Tsuenwan in which market roscarch teams will- go to every third seventh house in multi-storey buiklars and rosettiomont ostates."

He added that the Colony-wide campaign on drugs is aimed at "the under-25-year-olds which make up more than half the population of four million."
When asked, the source said that the primary purpose of "the biggest and most ambitious anti-drugs campaign to be undertaken in Hongkong" will be "designed to bring into every home the message of the evils of drugs.
He added: "The target is aimed more
at the young adults than Hongkong's estimated 80,000 to 100,000 addicts; and it is vital that we hit this young audience simp¡ý“ because it comprises at least half the Colony population."
