I have the honour to refer to my letter (1731) dated the 14th of January, 1966, declaring, in accordance with the provisions of Article 46 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, signed at Rome on the 4th of November, 1950, the recognition by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in respect of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland only and not, pending further notification, in respect of any other territory for the international relations of which the Government of the United Kingdom are responsible, of the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.

*Note: The Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms was extended to Brunei on 12 September, 1967.
