Thank you for your letter of 23rd July. I enclose a copy of a letter I have written to the Chinese Ambassador and I should be very grateful for any support you could give to my application.

I have had meetings with the Chinese Cultural Attache in London and also with the Director of the Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe, with a view to arranging visits to Hong Kong, but so far there has been no response.

It is for that reason that

I have played down my association with Hong Kong in my letter to the Ambassador.
