Dear Mr Royle,

I enclose a copy of a letter to the Editor of the

Guardian commenting on their report of 24th November. It was not

a full report and may have missed some other comments on retrospective

legislation. But I do not remember you opposing last years immigrat-

ion colour bar Bill.

Perhaps you could clarify your remarks; are you just an old-

fashioned (but honest) racist, or did you really fight against

the retrospective nature of the Immigration Act?
