Mr Youde
Parliamentary Clerk
CONFIDENTIAL

NOWYN
CHRISTMAS ADJOURNMENT DEBATE
1. The debate on the Motion for the Christmas Adjournment is
likely to take place on Thursday 20 December. The Farliamentary
Clerk has circulated a request for short notes for the use of the
Lord President on topics likely to arise. Mr Guest has suggested
that the question of corruption in Hong Kong, Mr Godber and the
Pujitive Offenders Act might be raised.
The Parliamentary Unit has asked for a short background note,
together with a short paragraph on the line to take which the
Lord President can use verbatim explaining why there is no need
to keep the House in session in order to debate that subject.
This should include any references to recent Parliamentary debates
or questions on the subject.
5.
I accordingly submit a note on the line to take, together with
a background note and accompanying references.
