EXECUTIVE COUNCIL DECISION OF 9.10.73

The Council considered memorandum XCS(73)10.

The Council ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED:

(a) that the objectives of the recommendations

set out in paragraphs 5 and 6 of the memorandum be accepted, subject to such modifications as may be thought desirable on detailed consideration of them;

(b) that the Advisory Committee on Corruption be

abolished (paragraph 7(d) of the memorandum);

(c) that the question of the future of the Target

Committee be deferred (paragraph 7(e) of the memorandum);

(d) that the Report and annexures be published in

full (paragraph 9 of the memorandum) on or about 10th October and Government's proposals announced before the close of the Legislative Council debate on the motion of thanks;

(e) that discussions with the staff associations be

initiated forthwith (paragraph 13 of the memorandum);

(f) that such legislation as is desirable to give effect

to these decisions be drafted and introduced into the Legislative Council.
