which he seeks our arreement, by 18 October, if
necessary to the use of Colonial Regul. tion No
55 (the queen's Pleasure Provision) to retire
without retirement ben fits.
You will rese ber that the use of Colonial
Regulations Nos. 59 and 55 to retire officers in
the public interest was discussed at a meeting
with the Governor on 13 September and was
subsequently discu sed in exchanges of telegrams,
resting with FCO Telegram No 1000 of 8 October,
and Hong Kong Telegram o 1180 of 15 October.

Stuart so I am unable to send you the papers).
I should be grateful if Ar kahro d, in
particular could com.ent on the point about an
action for unlawful dis issal raised in mare. 4
of the Governor's telegram.
I should also be grateful if r Hall could
advise on the correct procedure for the use of
