Neither Driberg nor his informant should be allowed to get away with their vague allegations for it is in the interests of us all to get reliable information in order that we can take punitive action. The information the F. C.O. has supplied is typical of what the Anti-Corruption Office gets all the time.

Could you therefore ask the F.C.O. to endea-

vour to get a detailed statement recorded from the informant. If we cannot go for a court case, it will at least give us good background information.
