1. I thought you ought to know that Mr Tom Driberg, MP. telephoned Mr Royle's Private Secretary, Len Davies, on 1 August to say that he had been approached by a former Hong Kong police officer who recently left Hong Kong because, he said, he was fed up with corruption in the Police Force. The informant had told Kr Driberg that he was aware of 4 police officers who were engaged in corrupt practices. Their names were

Private Secretary asked whether the informant was willing to come forward with concrete allegations, but ir Driberg said that he was not, and did not want to reveal his name. Len Davies bes accordingly said that, in that case, he did not think there was much we could do.
