I write with reference to your letter of 13th July, enclosing a copy of a recent letter to Mr. Royle from Mrs. Elliott.

I quite agree that nothing beyond a bare acknowledgement need, or should, be sent. We shall pass the correspondence on to the Anti-Corruption Office, and will let you know if it leads to anything. However, I am not optimistic since, like most of Mrs. Elliott's allegations, it is too vague to provide the starting point for an investigation.
