recommend that further caning shall not

be inflicted whereupon the officer-in-

charge shall remit the remainder of the

caning.

(4) The officer-in-charge shall enter

in his journal the hour at which such

caning was inflicted, the number of

strokes inflicted, and any orders which

he may have given as to remission."

Amendment of regulations 21 and 22.

8. Regulations 21 and 22 of the principal

regulations are amended by deleting "Superintendent"

in each place where it occurs and substituting the

following

"officer-in-charge".

Amendment of Schedule.

9. The Schedule to the principal regulations is

amended, in Form 2, by deleting the footnote and

substituting the following

"Note

(1) Three years from the date of the

inmate's release.".
