Mr Henniker-Heaton is Chairman of the Overseas Labour Committee and a member of the Council of the Confederation of British Industry; he is the United Kingdom Employers' Delegate and a member of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation at Geneva, Vice President of the International Centre for Advanced Technological Training at Turin, a mem- ber of the Economic and Social Committee of the European Economic Community in Brussels and spokesman of the UK employers at the same; he is a member (lay judge) of the National Industrial Relations Court, a member of the Industrial Arbitration Board and of national tribunals in the Coal, and Railways industries; he is Chairman of the Cotton and Allied Trades Joint Committee and Consultant to the British Textile Employers' Association. He was appointed President of the Textile Institute in May 1973. He is a Commander of the British Empire (1965), a Fellow of the Institute of Linguists (1962) and a Companion of the Textile Institute (1970).
