Dear Mike,
CONFERENCE OF THE TEXTILE INSTITUTE, HONG KONG 20 24 NOVEMBER 1973
31.

Thank you for your letter of 5 October about the arrangè- ments for the opening of this Conference and for all the trouble you have taken to look into the background. We entirely take your point and are satisfied about the arrangements.
2. George Foggon's original feeling that there was some disappointment at the CBI arose from his contacts with the International Department there, but since your letter arrived he has met Henniker-Heaton, the President of the Textile Institute, on another matter entirely. He took the opportunity to mention the Hong Kong Conference. He found Henniker-Heaton quite relaxed and well content with the way things were going. The latter said, inter alia, that the General Secretary of the Textile Institute had been ill during the early part of the year and that he himself had not taken over as President until May.
3. You may find the enclosed note about Henniker-Heaton's background of some use.
ever,
Yours
Admo
