Perhaps I could take this opportunity to repeat the commitment we have already given that during next year's review we shall be pressing most resolutely for Hong Kong's textile and footwear exports to be included in the Community Scheme from 1975 onwards. In the (I fear probable) event of our not getting all we want at any rate in one go, it is essential that our negotiators should have a list of priorities. You very kindly said that you would be letting me have a paper on this.
6. We shall of course keep the Hong Kong authorities fully informed of events concerning next year's GSP Review.
I am sending a copy of this letter to the Governor. Copies also go to Michael Palliser, Peter Preston and the Hong Kong Offices in Brussels and London.
