asked if Her Majesty's Government could do

anything to help Hong Kong settle her

problems with the E.E.C. Mr. Royle said

that this question had been discussed in

detail with the Governor in the last few

days. He understood Hong Kong's problems

fully and even though there were wider

considerations of British interest
