Chairman of six Select Committees.

He chaired the two committees which drew up the Council reports on the reform of the local administration. Mr. Sales has also served as Chairman of the Finance Committee (1960-63) and of the Executive Committee

(1965-71) of the Hong Kong Housing Authority.

Awards:

Mr. Sales' services to Hong Kong and in international affairs have been recognized by many awards. He was awarded the Coronation Medal in 1953 and in 1964 was appointed an Officer

He is of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. also an Officer of the Order of the Portuguese Empire and Comendador, Ordem Infante Dom Henrique of Portugal, Recognition by the Spanish Government includes Caballero, Orden de Isabel la Catolica and Comendador, Orden del Merito Civil, among many others. He was world President of Junior Chamber International in 1956 after holding other local and international offices and is also a Past President of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong.
