"Should I give them a reception
at Marlborough House?"
Information Administration Department have now agreed
to make arrangements for the party to visit public housing,
schools, hospitals, etc, as asked in para 2 of the telegram,
on 21 and 22 June. Mr Royle has agreed to see a number of
the visitors at 3 pm on 19 June. In these circumstances I
do not think we need offer anything further.
If neverthe-
less Mr Royle still wished to entertain them, I think that
they might find Marlborough House somewhat overwhelming;
they might feel more at home at a reception in a hotel.
The Hong Kong Government Office have now passed on a
request asking whether Mr Royle would see 10 of their
members (instead of 8 previously agreed) on 19 June. This,
